2nd Summit
Frequently asked questions
The short answers. Tap any question to open it — and if yours is not here, write to us.
What is 2nd Summit?
We find the good things to do near you — hikes and walks, classes, talks, tours, music, volunteering, and small gatherings — and put them in one place, chosen with people in their second act in mind. Some experiences we host ourselves. Many more are run by parks, clubs, studios, museums, and local guides, and we list them so you can find them without hunting through a dozen websites.
More about usDo I have to be a certain age to join?
No. 2nd Summit is built for adults 50 and up, and that is who you will meet, but nobody is turned away and nobody is asked their age. If the experiences look like your kind of thing, they are.
Does it cost anything to join?
Joining is free. You can browse everything, register for experiences, join waitlists, and tune what you hear about without paying us anything. Individual experiences may have their own price, always shown up front, and Plus is an optional membership with extras.
What Plus includesHow do I reserve a spot?
Open an experience and choose a date. If we run it, you reserve right here in a couple of taps and get a confirmation email with everything you need. If a partner runs it, we hand you off to their registration page after you tell us you are going, so we can still hold your place in the group and remind you.
Browse experiencesCan I bring a friend or my partner?
Yes, when the experience has room. Reserve the number of spots you need and tell us who is coming — hosts plan for the whole group, so a name on the list means a welcome at the door rather than a surprise.
What if I have to cancel?
Please do cancel — someone on the waitlist is hoping for your spot. You can cancel from your account anytime. For an experience you paid for on 2nd Summit, cancelling at least 24 hours before it starts is a full refund; inside that window, message us and we will sort it out. Partner-ticketed events follow the partner's own refund rules.
Payment termsHow fit do I need to be?
It depends entirely on the experience, and we say so on each one — a flat two-mile walk and a steep morning climb are both on here. You are the best judge of what suits you. If you tell us about your pace or anything that would help, we pass that along to the host of the experiences you have joined, and to nobody else.
Who are the hosts?
For the experiences we run, a host or ambassador is a member who volunteers to be the friendly face — they arrive early, know who is coming, and make sure nobody stands alone in a parking lot wondering if they are in the right place. They are volunteers and good company, not paid guides.
Ask about hostingWhere do you operate?
We are opening in new places as we grow. Browse the calendar to see what is happening near you — and if we are not where you are yet, tell us. That is genuinely how we choose what comes next.
See what's near youHow much email will I get, and can I stop it?
You get what you need — a confirmation when you register, a reminder before the day, a note if something changes — plus occasional word of what is coming up. You can change what you hear about, or stop the optional mail entirely, from your preferences or the unsubscribe link in any message. Confirmations and changes to something you have registered for keep coming, because those are not marketing.
Your preferencesWhat do you do with my information?
We use it to run 2nd Summit and to show you things worth your time. We do not sell it. Hosts of experiences you have joined see your name and anything you chose to share about pace or access; your phone number is shown to nobody, and your email is visible only to our team.
